Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until then to take the medicine and skip the missed dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with Zyrtec. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Available as a prescription drug since 2001, Zyrtec-D is now approved as an over-the-counter drug for the relief of symptoms due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies such as runny nose; sneezing; itchy, watery eyes; itchy nose or throat; and nasal congestion.
